bjj or krav maga for street defence?

hello all,

i'm new to the forum, male, 35, with no experience of m.a. apart from a few months of boxing (no ring, only training).

i'm about to start now, a bit late i know, for street self defence purposes mainly.

i have the oportunity to either go with krav maga, with a very good teacher with years in israil and russia etc, not the fashion kids who got a trainers diploma in 6 months and 1500 dollars. so the guy is for real, no question about it.

or, i can start bjj ,not the pure grapling/groung sport thing as it is sometimes in todays academys but the real stuff, with all throws and strikes from standing possition etc. the teacher there is also very good, has done his thing the long way with judo, sambo, bjj, rusia, brazil etc. he's also preparing fighters for mma tournaments etc.

to tell u the truth, i always liked the bjj stuff. but i keep wondering, would the krav maga be better for street self defence?

also, is krav maga easier to learn / easier to put in practice in a live situation?

thank you
