While this is true, isn't it dependent on the sale timeline of the individual chain? IE a Food Lion which runs advertisements with a Tuesday-Monday night, final markdowns on overstock and out of date goods will be made by Monday before the new ads goods are put to the shelves that night?

Also, there are tremendous downsides to shopping on Saturday mornings, especially if you live in a community with Seniors. These old bags will swarm, snailing their way about the store, getting in the self checkout lines to prove they still have it, and all the ancient and dying employees of the store are wheeled out to pity you into stopping for free samples. Lines are filled with coupon clippers, etc.

Upside of one of these experiences is that it really feels like Bullet-time from Max Payne or the Matrix.

Never worked there, but numerous experiences at different locales has convinced me that if you and your friends are low on cash and bored at night, the modern day carny show is Wal-Mart Supercenter in a Suburban/semi-rural area.
Just remember, as you gaze into the abyss, it gazes also into you.
