PHOENIX: Sound off and let's get HDNet on Cox !

Phoenix fellow Sherdoggers,

I emailed a letter to Cox requesting that HDNet be added to the channel lineup and this is the full exchange of emails. Bottomline, they said they are familiar with MMA and the growth in popularity of the sport and that if we want HDNet to be added, they need to hear from the people because there needs to be a need for the channel. The more people that email, the better. Let's try to show some support to HDNet and let's get it on here in this city! Thanks guys.

Cox's email is: phoenix.services@cox.com

Transcript of the email (from most recent to original msg):

Dear Mr. Rosado:

Thank you for your response.

We appreciate your passion for the HDNet Channel and wanting to see it
on our channel line-up. We value your feedback. When we receive
requests for programming we forward that information to our Programming
and Marketing Departments for consideration..

We are very familiar with M.M.A. and its growing popularity. As long as
there is enough interest from our customer base, and room in our
bandwidth, we do consider all requests we receive. Again there are
factors such as programming costs, program ratings and the effect that
the addition or subtraction will have on the remaining line-up that we
must consider, but all request are considered.

We are planning on adding additional channels after the first of the
year. At this time we are unable to speak to what channels will be
added, but please be assured that we are working to upgrade our system
as quickly as possible in order to provide additional channels in the
future.

Thank you again for contacting us via e-mail. Please let us know if we
can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Tony

Thanks Patsy.? I am not a Ms. however, I am a Mr.

Will you be saying that Cox will consider HDNet on their lineup?? You
just said that you must consider some factors.? Let me ask you a quick
question.? Have you ever heard of MMA or Mixed Martial Arts?? Most
people in the United States are familiar with the UFC (Ultimate Fighting
Championships).? The UFC is an organization which PPV numbers are
through the roof!???Beating boxing, WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment)
and HBO PPV convincingly if you study the numbers.? Spike TV's numbers
are through the roof because of the UFC itself.? However UFC is a?big
photo of the even bigger picture in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts as a
whole.? HDNet covers the whole Mixed Martial Arts sport as a whole and
is a channel dedicated to that.? I assure you that more people would
tune into HDNet than into the golf or fishing channel.? Mixed Martial
Arts is the fastest growing sport in the entire world (it is huge in
Japan, Europe, Asia and spreading) why couldn't Cox move with it?? Cox
supports the UFC and the UFC is apart of the sport of MMA.? However,
HDNet carries more than just MMA, HDNet is a 24-hour network featuring
live sports like NHL and MLS, boxing and a handful of drama, concerts,
original news and documentary programming.

Please consider for the many fans of the sport of Mixed Martial Arts in
Phoenix.? In order to get this process sped up, do I have to submit a
petition?? I am not being sarcastic? neither.? I am that passionate for
the sport.? One reason I would like to have HDNet expedited on Cox, on
New Year's HDNet will posting this huge MMA event LIVE from Japan and
the organization hosting the event will be televising this Free to the
U.S. exclusively on HDNet.? This event will be far more spectacular than
any UFC event and the main event is featuring the sport's greatest and
most complete fighter, Fedor Emelianenko.? That doesn't mean much to
most but Randy Couture, the UFC Heavyweight Champion partially quit the
UFC and relinquishied his title because the UFC couldn't sign Fedor and
he's the only man he wants to fight.? That says a lot about Fedor.?

For record proof of HDNet is carried on major TV Networks, not only
because Mark Cuban owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks owns HDNet but
because:
Dish Network carries HDNet: http://www.official-dishnetwork-onli...sp?banner=9023
DirecTV carries HDNet: http://www.directstartv.com/directv_...ogramming.html
About HDNet and who also carries HDNet: http://hdnetfights.com/gethdnet.php

The greatest Christmas gift you could give me is to give me my HDNet.

Thank you,

Panama Rosado

Dear Ms. Rosado:

Thank you for your recent e-mail to Cox Communications. We apologize
for the delay in our response.

We appreciate you taking the time to advise us of your interest in the
HDNet channel.

We value your feedback and strive to offer a variety of channels to meet
the needs of our customers. We are especially interested in providing
programming specifically requested by customers like you.

We must consider a number of factors, though, when choosing to add or
delete programming. These factors include programming costs, program
ratings and the effect that the addition or subtraction will have on the
remaining line-up.

Thank you again for contacting us via e-mail. Please let us know if we
can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Comments: Hello. I wanted to ask someone at Cox about including the
channel HDNet to your programming lineup. HDNet is owned by Mark Cuban
who is also the owner of the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA. It's a Mixed
Martial Arts channel and also they will be the only channel in the
United States that will be airing the Yarennoka! event live from Japan
on Dec. 31st and I really want to see that. Is there anyway that you
can include HDNet to the lineup immediately? They are broadcasted
across the country and their website is hdnetfights.com and they post
their episodes of "Inside MMA" is also shown delayed on their website.
Please, can someone contact me (preferably email) and let me know if
this possible.
Also, on HDNetfights.com, they have a Get HDNET section, and here's the
link. There's also a list of the states and channels they are
broadcasted on and their contact info.

Thank you,
Panama R.
