How can you say Gomi/Diaz is even a nominee for fight of the year?

1 fighter wasn't even a 155 fighter, the other had nothing to gain by winning and treated the fight as part of his Las Vegas vacation itinerary!

The fight had no consequence at all, it was pretty much as irrelevant as a fight can be that features 2 big org fighters. It makes no sense to even consider it as fight of the year. Diaz got dropped and clobbered but survived, Gomi gassed completely and got tapped for 5 minutes then got gogo'd because he had no energy.

Urijah faber could have subbed Gomi at that time, it makes no sense. Theres been at least 10 fights this year with more consequence AND more even.
