So guys, im thinking of joining the USMC straight out of highschool. Im not interested in college honestly, and have always wanted a career in the military and especially on the SOF side of things. Honestly, Im not ready to go through BUD/S out of highschool, and I don't like the alternative if I get injured/DOR of going into the fleet and chipping paint. The USMC has alot of great options and much better fall back plans, so I think it's a smarter and more logical choice. Basically, I'd go USMC combat arms, then aim for either S/S or MARSOC after a few years.

Am I an idiot for this? I mean, I told my Dad last night, and he told me he knew I wanted to be in the military since I was young and although I should probably try for college, that he understood and I had to make my own decisions. I may DEP soon.
