I don't think a true sociopath would even recognize the fact that they are potentially a sociopath.
Your willingness and ability to look at your inner self seems to suggest that you are not sociopathic.
Being outside the box is a good thing dude!

Ok, but do you have a conscience? Empathy, sympathy...ok. But would you jump into a frigid river, risking your own skin, to save a drowning stranger?

I had to talk to a shrink for a debriefing after finding a dead co-worker (not a friend, just an acquaintance at best) who had gone on a hike and never returned.

The psychologist thought it completely normal (and healthy) that I didn't really feel that much upon finding the body. I'd seen death many times as an EMT / Fire Fighter, and I told her "He was just another body."
I thought something might be wrong with me because I didn't FEEL that much. According to her, I was dealing with it in a very healthy and stable way: it was just the circle of life.

NOW. Would I follow a fellow human being into fire to save a family, even knowing that I may not come out? Hell yeah. Without hesitation.

I have no doubt that you would also Finny.
You are NOT a sociopath.
