I don't know where you live, but if you're in Canada (some places in the US) look for a "running room" store. If you bring them in a pair of your old shoes they can look at the wear pattern and tell you if you over or under pronate.
I have a pair of brooks Trance 7's. They are my second pair, I used the same shoe last year training for the Toronto marathon and they held up great during training and during the marathon.
I can't help you with a sprinting shoe, sorry. And one more thing I've found (I've been running for about 6 years now) is that the more expensive the shoe the lighter it is (as a rule of thumb) but the difference between the weight of a $140 shoe and a $180 could be very small. And in my experience the two main factors in a good shoe are comfort and weight, lots of shoes have fancy bells and whistles, brand new shoe technology (whatever that would be) but I find that I don't feel much difference between a shoe with a "Progressive Diagonal Roll Bar" and one without.
Happy running
