4 CSI gloves reviewed (pics)

Alright I had my knee scoped 2 days ago and am bored. So I thought I would post up a review of some gloves.

The 4 gloves are: IMF tech grappling, amateur competition, safety, and extreme safety.

IMF tech: This glove is crap. First off paper thin leather. We bought several for the gym and some split right away from use. The finger loops are always coming out. The glove moves around on the hand a lot. Also the foam squishes down way to easy. These gloves would be great for TMA guys point sparring. It would add distance to the jumping back knuckle and they could say they are using fight gloves. Stay away from these.

Amatuer Comp glove: These are old, notice no CSI logo on the fist. These are made with "top grain leather" and it shows. They have held up over the long haul. CSI needs to use this leather and quality with all their gloves. I don't know if they have changed the new ones so be aware. These gloves are more like competition gloves. They are not padded enough for hard sparring. Great for pads and very light sparring. With all the new gloves out there I don't think there is a place for these unless you have extra money. Solid construction.

MMA Safety Gloves: These have been reviewed quite a bit already. Problems are finger loops and bulky. I noticed the Tapout version did away with the finger loops. Hopefully CSI will follow suit. Good for sparring but like I stated bulky. Also notice the size difference vs the Extremes. Most people will want to use these and so far not to many complaints about quality.

Extreme MMA Safety: I already did a review of these on this forum. The bad: paper thin leather on the pad. Blue Dye everywhere. I bought 2 pair of these for our fighters to spar with. Last week one of my guys refused to use them because he had a job interview the next day and did not want blue ink all over his hands. That is how bad they are. One of the other forum members had some problems.

I only use these for sparring NO pads/bag or they will tear IMO. They have been used less than a dozen times but you can see the wear on the wrist/thumb area. I don't think they will hold up in the long run. BUT these are the gloves you want your partner to wear. Good padding and they stay on your hand like a competition glove. Also notice the short wrist wrap compaired to teh regular safety gloves. Other than the quality these would be great gloves.

I am hoping in the future to try the Hybrid as they look like they have good padding for sparring and hopefully good quality.
