What about a baton or nightstick? Do you carry those where you work? Would you feel comfortable using that to defend against a knife if you had it in your hand when forced into aknife situation? Do you carry a knife specifically for your job? I know that KA-Bar has a whole line of law enforcement knives that can be pulled out quickly and have a bent blade to aid in knife retention.
