What lifting means to you...
So, I came to a realization yesterday. Lifting, is a much more important aspect of my life than I ever thought possible. My lady, asked me why I would want to go through that physical pain. "What's the point in it?" she asked.
And I told her. "It's a way of constantly testing myself. In today's time there aren't many opportunities for a man to do that. I'm always able to watch myself make progress. And for me, that's important. There are times when work is slow, when I can't get anyone to return my calls. There are times when the colleagues screw something up and I have to pick up the pieces. There are times when relationships become difficult, and often feel cumbersome. Sometimes you feel like your wheels are just spinning in place and it's never going to stop. But when I get into that weight room, there's none of that. It's about me, and what I can do to improve. I know where I was last week and I know where I am now.
Basically, every time I step up to that weight... I become a better "me" than I was yesterday."
Immediately upon speaking those words, I realized that they were true.
Sorry about all the motivational-sounding BS. I'm totally not gay... Except for Lusst. So tell us (all quips and Sherdog sex jokes aside)... What does lifting mean to you?
