Yes, this thread is the shit.
I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes to computer stuff, I only use the one at work so I'm not allowed to any experimenting with shit.
Until yesterday...
This friend of mine got a new laptop so she gave me her old desktop. She said "It's all yours, just promise you'll 'whitewash' it."
WTF does that mean, exactly? I don't want to uninstall ALL the programs, but I think she wants to make sure that no personal things she may have left on there will be found, either by me or a future owner/user of the computer.
So, I'm thinking that CCleaner will do the trick, but if I'm wrong, I'd appreciate someone telling me and pointing me in the right direction. I don't have internet at home, but I can DL CCleaner (or whatever else I might need) here and take it home.
I will definitely be doing so with GIMP and that AUDACITY.
