I don't have a problem with looks coming into the equation.
What I do have a problem with is people who are ONLY interested in a female fighters looks, and really don't give a t*ss about female MMA, such as the poster who suggested that Carano was already at the "top" because of her marketability. I also have a problem with fighters who don't get the respect they're due because they don't conform to a "feminine" image.
As you said yourself, looks shouldn't overshadow skill and athleticism. That's my only real issue with the whole thing.
Basically, though, I think I'm agreeing with you...
