Hired Gun--could you please lay out your argument more formally, because from what I understand of Luba's position, your contentions don't seem to hold.
From what I understand of Luba's position:
Success is based on the subjective goals of each individual. Luba would not consider a crack addict that got a job at Walmart unsuccessful. The crack addict has move up in his station in life. Luba would be unsuccessful if his current job failed and he had to get one at Walmart. He has moved down in his station. It is entirely subjective. I don't see where the "failure of others" argument comes in.
