The postcount is disabled in this forum to eliminate potential postwhoring and to take away the motivation outsiders may have to come in and screw around with your threads, which was a problem with the 88-page language-specific threads that were in Newbietown. It's not perfect, but it's an essential component for a forum like this that will largely be self-moderated.
