They are attracted to you like people are attracted to a juggling orangutan in a Zoo. It's funny to hear a clumsy fatso talk Taiwanese, it has a high novelty factor, but nobody wants to take you home, just like they wouldn't take an orangutan home.
I sincerely doubt you've ever had a good friend if you consider some random guys at a Taiwanese student group at a university going ooh aah, like people in the circus do when a guy swallows a sabre, either friendship or a sign of character.
