More ounce is heavier. Heavier is harder upon impact on your opponent, more padding but more weight to it usually. Anything above 16 = painful for your friend.

Meh, most people will fit into a normal sized glove. go try one at the store then decide what u need

why not use the bag glove for sparring to? in general with thai/boxing gloves there isnt a hell of a lot of difference.

Wearing the gloves down will take years, don't stress.
