TJ, I have some suggestions on improvements to the presentation of the show.
First, I've been thinking about how many people listen to the show. Kurt Otto on the show wednesday said that Beatdown/Sherdog was very important for the sport (maybe he was just sucking up cause he was on the air?) but at the same time, you guys dont have any sponsors which leads me to think that
1. Beatdown doesnt have a lot of listeners or,
2. possible advertisers dont know that Beatdown is popular
3. Beatdown has a large audience, but its spread out across the country, making it less interesting for small local companies to advertise since they cant reach across state lines anyway.
4. getting advertising is not a priority.
Personally I could care less Beatdown gets sponsorship money, but since its an awesome show you guys deserve to do well. Also, Im getting so sick of the same commercials month after month, I imagine the prisoners in Gitmo being subjected to non stop "GOSH DARN IT BILLY JUST STOLE MY GIRLFRIEND AGAIN!!11.." for months.. I would confess to whatever, right away.
Consistency. You guys have a huge potential base with all the forum members on Sherdog.net, but to get people coming back you need to keep to the schedule, and you need to advertise it properly. I suggest a thin banner under the sherdog logo at sherdog.com with the time and date for all beatdown shows in the week. Also, dont be cheap and hide the shows behind insider accounts right away, while you build a loyal base.. have all eps free for download during the same week. Get them hooked first, then start charging money.
I think Beatdown could be the thing to draw people to Sherdog, instead of the other way around. Im still getting used to the live thing, but I like it.
