Quoted for the truth. When I got out as an E-4, the "pay compensation paper" said I needed to make $38k to equal the standard of living I had in the chairforce. When I got out, I started out at $23k, and I actually had a nicer place to live, better food, and money in the bank, which was something I never had in the chairforce.
