Awesome post. I would definitely not consider myself a gi expert as I've only had one gi. Nevertheless I've been rolling in my Mkimonos hybrid weave for almost a year so I can see its strong and weak points now. The top fits very well and I like the roughness of the material as it is mostly my oponent's problem. I've never had any gi burns, however I am always wearing the ssf rashguard underneath and it might be its high collar responsible for the burn prevention. The thing I can't stand about the top is the long skirt. I know I couldn't get a smaller size top as the sleeves fit perfectly but the skirt reminds me more of a judo gi. It makes it hard to go for the lapel choke although some may think that it is a good thing because it is also hard for your opponent to take your lapel out. The pants are very durable and I like the reinforcements, however they are definitelly too baggy and seem to keep shrinking only as far as the length is conserned. I also don't like the draw string, it does not hold the pants in place very well. In general I am satisfied with the gi especially with its quality. It looks that it is gonna last for a long time. However for my second gi I would probably be picking either the ssf or the kikskin kompetitor.
