Great point! I can't think of any Pride or UFC fight where it was used. But I've seen it a few times in other orgs. There is a sweet flying umaplata I think in cagerage where some guy shot in while the other guy was half turned around. The shooter ended up with his arm in beween the guy's legs and he jumped and flipped over and landed in a mean umaplata. He tapped right away. Best one I have ever seen. BJ Penn goes for them, but I've never seen him get one in Pride or UFC. Melvin Guillard flipped out of one recently. Its just hard to sneak up on somebody with the move so they flip out and that is that. Basically, a well versed BJJ guy is really hard to catch with an Umaplata, that's why we don't see any at the Pride/UFC level. Great question though!!!
