Judo offers another route to victory.
Like any martial art / martial sport they have moves that if trained can be applied in competition.
If your opponent doesnt train it then they will not know how to defend against it.
When GJJ came on the scene this is what it taught the martial art community. "Understanding is the key".
I see in many MMA matches where a simple judo throw could be applied but isnt because people do not train judo.
The problem with modern judo it puts full emphasis on Gi training and more emphasis on throws than groundwork so you may throw your opponent but your ground skills are limited.
If the Judo that formed GJJ was utilised you may see Judo in a different light.
