Yes you are right trying to lift someone for a slam from an armbar is a pretty stupid defense snd in noway am I recommending to use it as a defense.
However IF someone is capable of lifting you (i.e you have a crap armbar) regardless of the tech and you continue to try and apply the tech whilst lifted you are essentially giving them the ok to try and slam you, so don't whine about being slammed.
If you dont want to get slammed then when you get lifted let go of the submission.

I whole heartedly agree with the crappy armbar, but I mean when someone has their opponent in a tight armbar and someone tries the "lift and slam" as an escape, that's just dumb. It seems we agree.
