Stossel filed a law suit against the World Wrestling Federation over this, which he won. The amount awarded to Stossel has never been announced, but rumours have placed it anywhere between $280,000 and $425,000.

Although he has consistently maintained that World Wrestling Federation officials told him to hit Stossel, Schultz was fired over his actions. He wrestled for a time after this billing himself as 'Dr D' David Schultz in an effort to build back his career using the incident as a gimmick. This was short lived and David Schultz retired from professional wrestling.
