Tampa Bay, want to learn takedowns?
My 2 youngers brothers 29,25 like to train on Sunday open mat style no gi. The 29yr old is wanting to do MMA (he did an event in 97 and is 2-0) he has a strong wrestling base and has been training boxing. He has some BJJ background but cannot commit the $$$ to doing boxing and BJJ both.
What he is offering is some drills and practice in takedowns in exchange for some drills/practice in BJJ/Sub grappling. brother #1 is 29 180lbs but working his way down to 155lbs. He has wrestled since the 7th grade and was capt of his HS team jr. and sr. seasons District champ his sr season, didnt advance past regionals however..he had the flu and it was single elimination. Other than that all his losses his senior season were to wrestlers who placed at the state championship that year excluding the 1 loss he took in the regional championship. IMO (and dont tell him this, he is the better wrestlers although bro #2 has better credentials)
Brother #2 is 275lbs (he should be closer to 215 though) 6'0" and 25 yrs old. 2 time state qualifier, as sophmore placed in all tournaments icnluding the brandon invitational (16 team event featuring a team unbeaten in 30 yrs, Brandon High) earning 1st place, palcing in all other invitational tourney as well as runner up in the district, one match away from qualifying for the state championships.
As a Junior he placed in all tournaments including a championship in the durant open where he defeated a state qualifier in the finals, distrcit champ, and regional runner up. He was also county champ at the county invitational defeating yet another Brandon HS wrestler in the finals.
Runner up in a summer HS tourney that featured wrestlers form Fl, Tn, GA and other SE states. Lost in the finals 2-1 to Alabamas eventual hvwy State champion.
as a senior he again placed in all tournaments, district champ, county champ, conference champ regional runner up, state qualifier. He defeated the eventual state champion during a christmas tournament known as the MITA invitational en route to a 3rd place finish.
So you will get a good mix of wrestling, one is a smaller wrestler that can help with leg attacks and defenses the other has always competed as a hvywt and can teach upper body techniques.
If anyone is interested hit this thread or PM me.
he has a 10X10 wrestling mat in his garage so you wont be rolling on concrete!
