Don't like nightmare? Sleep on your stomach.
When you sleep on your back, your lungs are compressed, and you get less air in, which simulates the idea of choking, which causes panic, which sends panic signals into your brain. And since there are no external stimuli to tell you it's not real, the signals become pictures that you dream about. Anything at all can become scary, because you are in a state of panic. It's strange, and somewhat hard to explain.
Everyone sits up quickly when they have had a nightmare, no one flips over and then sits up, because you don't have nightmares on your side or on your stomach, because air is flowing fine.
I read this somewhere, and it works perfectly. Luckily, I enjoy sleeping on my stomach. If you are bothered by nightmares, give it a try.
